January 5 – National Whipped Cream Day! Keto Friendly!
Happy National Keto Friendly Whipped Cream Day!
Yes… it’s a thing – because I say it is! According to Foodimentary – January 5th is National Whipped Cream Day. I love a good food holiday along with everyone else. Heck, I just love food! But since I’m currently living the keto lifestyle, I decided to deem it National Keto Friendly Whipped Cream Day! Why not right?
Being able to eat whipped cream is like a cheat! Add some berries (the only keto-friendly fruit), and I am in heaven! And people, homemade whipped cream tastes so much better than the junk you get in a can or plastic tub.
I’ve been making whipped cream for years – and until recently it was all done with either a hand mixer or my red KitchenAid (I call her Ruby). Ruby and I have made a lot of whipped cream together! But recently I got my hands on a hand-held, small-batch, whipped cream maker from Pampered Chef.
There are a few things I love about it…
- It has a pour line, so you never mess up the ingredients
- It’s so simple my kids can use it
- It literally makes whipped cream in 30 Seconds (for real people)
- It is dishwasher safe
- It has a storage cap in case you don’t use it all (but that is not usually an issue in my home)
- It also makes butter in under 2 minutes and makes light whipped eggs for scrambling
- It’s only $25!
Simple Swaps for Keto Friendly Whipped Cream
Okay so the basic premise of whipped cream is heavy cream, powered sugar and flavored extract… Simple right? YES! It’s that simple! So to make your whipped cream keto-friendly simple swap the heavy cream for Organic Heavy Cream, and use Stevia drops or powdered Stevia in place of the confectionary sugar.
Basic Keto Friendly Whipped Cream
This makes about 2 cups.
- 1 Cup Organic Heavy Cream
- 1-2 tsp of Liquid Stevia
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Honestly it’s that simple! You can also make flavored whipped creams like peppermint, chocolate and almond. Find out how here. Just remember to swap out the cream and sweetener for keto friendly options.
